HUBLOT

F1 KING POWER ABU DHABI

To celebrate the 2011 FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX, Hublot releases the new F1™ King Power Abu Dhabi.

As the Official Watchmaker of Formula 1™ and at the occasion of the penultimate Grand Prix of the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship, Hublot reveals the new F1™King Power Abu Dhabi. This exclusive limited edition of only 250 pieces has been especially designed in recognition to the Yas Marina Circuit which is considered as one of the most technologically advanced circuits in the world.

Sporting the unique blue color in reference to the blue tracks of the famous circuit, the F1 King Power Abu Dhabi also features several unique aspects made from an array of high-tech materials directly inspired by Formula 1 (some of which have never before been used in watchmaking) such as a ceramic bezel with a circular-grained satin finish adorned with multiple holes inspired by a high performance brake disc, a strap made from rubber and Nomex™ a synthetic fibre developed by Dupont De Nemours and used – thanks to its very low combustibility and thermostability - to make the suits worn by F1 drivers as well as the Start, Reset and Split push buttons, the latter for the split second function and a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock.
